Story
“Ape with Skull” is a painting about mortality.
It’s based on the sculpture - ‘Affe mit Schädel’ by Hugo Rheinhold from 1893.
A lot of my work looks at the idea of life and death.
Now to some that might seem morbid, but for me it’s the opposite.
Easily put, Momento Mori - remember we will die.
I am trying to celebrate life one day at a time and creating artwork that reminds me that at some point those days will run out, helps me make the most of what I have.
